The Tennessee
Aquarium is home to thousands of fantastic fish and now some feathered
friends are in the spotlight. Charismatic macaroni penguins can
be seen with their wild yellow crests and interesting beaks at
“Penguins’ Rock.” Joining the macaronis are
the gentoo penguins. Gentoos are the classic looking, black and
white birds that amaze as they dive in and rocket out of the water.
From the sub-Antarctic
chill to the sunny warmth of a tropical rainforest, interesting
birds can be found all over in River Journey and Ocean Journey.
Beautiful Hyacinth Macaws, colorful partridges, and playful ducks
abound at the Tennessee Aquarium and help bring our indoor exhibits
to life in a much different way than the creatures that swim below
the water’s surface. Meet the Aquarium’s fantastic
feathered friends.
