Docents have the best fish tales in town. Docents are stationed
throughout the Aquarium galleries to share information about
the habitats, animals and plants. As a docent, you will be
equipped with interesting and fun facts that will impress any
visitor. Docent shifts are available every
day of the week from 9:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. or from 1:30 to 6
p.m.
Eight Tuesday
evening training sessions beginning on:
September 15, 2009
6:00 p.m. - 8:15 p.m.
The Volunteer in
Progress (VIP) is an "interim" position for volunteers who want
to attend the annual docent training program, but want to begin
volunteering immediately. The VIP program is not a pre-requisite
for becoming a docent, but merely a way for prospective docents
to become immediately involved with volunteering until the docent
training class begins each fall. VIP's are training primarily
on Discovery Hall, the turtle station and the seahorse gallery.
