Board “The Polar Express: An IMAX 3D Experience” at Chattanooga’s Tennessee Aquarium IMAX 3D® Theater Nov. 25, 2005 through Jan. 26, 2006 CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (Oct. 27, 2005) – All aboard the Polar Express 3D just in time for the holidays at the IMAX 3D Theater in Chattanooga. Your tickets allow passage on an extraordinary train ride to the North Pole where you’re so immersed in the 3D experience you’ll find yourself grasping at falling snowflakes, ducking as the train screeches into your lap and feeling the howl of the steam whistle. The holiday film is based on the classic Caldecott medal-winning children's book written by Chris Van Allsburg and stars Academy Award® winner Tom Hanks. In the story a young boy lies awake in his room one snowy Christmas Eve. Suddenly, he is startled by a thunderous roar. Clearing the mist from his window he sees the most amazing sight—a gleaming black train rumbles to a stop right in front of his house. “The Polar Express: An IMAX 3D Experience” is the first full-length feature ever converted into IMAX® 3D. Using state-of-the-art CGI and performance capture technology to create a unique blend of realism and fantasy, it tells of a doubting young boy who takes an extraordinary train ride to the North Pole and embarks on a journey of self-discovery that shows him that the wonder of life never fades for those who believe.
