2012 Special Event

As Chattanooga’s foremost authority on aquatic conservation, the Tennessee Aquarium is helping people discover how deciding what’s for dinner can have a tremendous positive impact on our world. Partnering with local restaurants, seafood suppliers and celebrity chef Alton Brown, the Aquarium is offering sustainable seafood guidance that’s easy to digest. Our annual Serve & Protect event showcasing Alton’s wit and wisdom is a fun way to support the Aquarium’s mission-critical work.
This year, Serve & Protect will be expanded to include three events:
a lunchtime event, an elegant evening dinner and a weekend of savory sustainable seafood dinners offered at participating restaurants.
NEW THIS YEAR! ATTEND A LUNCH EVENT LIKE NO OTHER.
Join friends at 11:00 a.m. for cooking demonstrations and sampling presented throughout the IMAX Great Hall. Enjoy a gourmet boxed lunch in the IMAX Theater while Alton Brown serves up an extra helping of seafood facts and fun during a live cooking demonstration. Mix and mingle with the Food Network star during a dessert reception following the program. Featured goodies can be brought back to the office for those with limited lunch hours.
THE MAIN EVENING EVENT will begin at 5:30 p.m. in the IMAX Great Hall. Participants can sample a variety of sustainable seafood appetizers from Greenlife while enjoying cocktails. Mix and mingle with Alton Brown before he entertains and enlightens everyone with a new interactive cooking demonstration in the IMAX Theater. Afterwards, guests will be seated in an Aquarium gallery for an elegant dinner prepared by Chattanooga’s finest culinary talent. The evening will culminate with a dessert reception in the River Journey lobby.
THE FUN CONTINUES with the Downtown Dine Around on Friday and Saturday as participating restaurants feature sustainable seafood dishes throughout the weekend. Keep an eye out for the Serve & Protect logo as you try out some new dishes at your favorite downtown eateries.
E-mail events@tnaqua.org with questions or if you would like information on sponsoring this event.
All proceeds will support the Aquarium’s conservation and education efforts.
