Lodge Cast Iron Serve & Protect Skillet

Don’t miss the Cast-Iron Cookoff on Sunday, September 22nd – Some of Chattanooga’s top Chefs will face each other at the Chattanooga Market to prepare a sustainable seafood dish with locally-sourced ingredients. One of the Market’s most popular events, the Cast-Iron Cookoff offers crowds an opportunity to see how delicious it is to “Buy Local.”

Lodge Cast Iron, America’s Original Cookware, has produced a limited edition Serve & Protect cast iron skillet in support of the Aquarium’s sustainable seafood program.

Each 10 ¼-inch skillet is embossed with the Serve & Protect logo and includes an Alton Brown recipe. Anglers may already know that fillets seem to taste better when cooked in a cast iron skillet, but some people might be surprised to discover how versatile Lodge cookware can be when it comes to preparing seafood. To prove the point, Alton Brown has prepared a special recipe for “Clammiest Clam Chowder.” His recipe, along with use and care instructions for Lodge Logic cast iron cookware, is included with each Serve & Protect skillet.

You may purchase these limited edition skillets at the Tennessee Aquarium gift shop, both on-site and online: www.shopaquarium.org for $25. They are also available at Whole Foods Grocery in Chattanooga. Thanks to a special partnership with Lodge, 75% of each sale directly supports the Aquarium’s conservation programs.
