Teen with kids

Teen Opportunities

Teens are important to the Tennessee Aquarium and the future of our planet! We offer several programs to help inspire wonder, appreciation and protection of water and all life that it sustains.

Please click on the opportunities below for more details!

High School Hellbenders - Teens ages 15-18 can join us for exciting day and overnight trips at various times in June and July!  Participants will take leadership and science to the next level through these adventures with Aquarium educators. Trips include snorkeling, an Aquarium overnight for teens, and a creek survey with Tennessee Aquarium Conservation Institute scientists.

Job Shadowing - Spend three hours getting a behind-the-scenes glimpse into the daily responsibilities of our animal care staff!

Teen Volunteer Program - Engage guests at the Aquarium with fun facts about the exhibits, let them touch a shark tooth and more!

Summer Camp Volunteers - Assist Camp Leaders with crafts, snacks and field trips for younger children during the Education Department's Summer Camp!

Outreach - We can bring the Tennessee Aquarium to your school!  Whether it is for a Career Fair, Volunteer Fair or a classroom presentation, we are eager to work with you and your teachers to set up a visit!  Email us at education@tnaqua.org for more information!
